For over ten years, as proprietor of Victoria's Soaps & Scents, I have been committed to providing quality products and service to my customers online and at local craft fairs in my community. I believe that a reputation as an honest and reliable business is the recipe for success. While others seek to profit by cutting corners, I believe that a good reputation and quality products will reap bigger profits and returning customers in the long run.
I grew up in the midwest, near Kansas City, Kansas, then later as a youth in central Illinois, helping my single mom taking care of the home, I learned to be resourceful. Coupled with the opportunity in my grade school years of planting gardens with my maternal grandmother who owned acreage in Kansas and Missouri, I spent many hours helping her plant huge gardens and found a love producing many of our own consumer goods, including vegetables, milk and butter. Following her initiative and resourceful entrepreneurial spirit, (she was in business for herself, and had a few) she was an important role model for me-- rare for women those days. Emulating her love of using what the earth rendered she inspried me in later years with the memories of her "can do" spirit and gave me the likemindedness to pursue my hobby born businesses, including soapmaking, sewing and gardening . My own mother was a working woman, business minded as well so it was a given that after many years and need to pursue extra income I was inspired by a new-found appreciation for homeopathic remedies. This interest drove me to research natural soaps without chemicals that can cause thyroid conditions and my own skin sensitivity. I carry on my grandmother's pioneering spirit in the tradition started in the Howard family many years ago. All this hard work and research are here for you to benefit and learn.
